Cinetics in the sky

The Centrifuge bar at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas contains a 60 foot sculpture designed by Realisations.net. The kinetic sculpture combines moving architecture with cinematic images, creating a ‘cinetic’ visitor experience.

The Centrifuge bar, designed by Paul Steelman and Associates, is housed in a 160 foot by 90 foot dome; the kinetic sculpture rises up in the middle of it.

From the casting of models, the creation of costumes by Liz Vandal (noted for her work in dance and film), the photo and video shoot by Nicolas Ruel, to the creation and the manipulation of imagery by Robert Massicotte, all the content was conceived to be presented on rotating translucent/transparent membranes in motion from three sides.
