For MGM Grand Hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Shibuya, we used elements of the decor to produce two 35 min. videos as well as an integrated video display system. The main wall behind the sushi bar is made of hundreds of Plexiglas tubes, some clear and others with a mirrored surface.
Several screens installed behind these modules allowed us to play with opacity to display imagery of an underwater world with elements of the restaurant’s decor. The effect is that the walls of Shibuya tell a story while subtly highlighting the amazing design work by Pushelberg.
